Natural package for natural products

Task

Develop packaging design for dried fruits produced by the organic food company ZЁRNA.

Idea

Long before the invention of plastic, Central Asia already had organic “containers” made from dried and cleaned gourd roots — lagenaria. They were used to transport liquids, food, and even money.

We decided to turn to history and bring back the use of dried gourds as natural packaging.

Pumpkin packaging thus becomes an eco-friendly alternative to plastic, made entirely from organic materials — including the lid and the applied logo.

The bottle gourd does not let in light or moisture, which also makes it convenient for transportation.

Result

Natural products deserve natural packaging.

The project received international recognition, bringing Uzbekistan its first Epica Awards Gold and Pentawards Silver.
